    Buried My Buddy Today

Jacob "Lone Wolf" Ray was laid to rest today. He was in surgery Friday for staff infection when a blood clot went to his brain. He died on the operating table less than a month from his 24th birthday. Lone Wolf was in a wheel chair from a tractor accident when he was 3 years old. He was one of a kind, a little bit of a hell raiser in school (thats how we got to be friends) He would keep a bottle of Jim Beam in his boot and we would slip into the bathroom and have us a little pull in between classes. At parties he would always greet me with, "How you been, hows the family, and do you have your guitar?" If for whatever reason I didn't have it he would make me help him into his truck and take me to my house and get it so I could play Politics Religon and Her and Blues Man. Countless occassions my mom would wake me up on Saturday mornings and say there is a white Z-71 just sitting in the driveway. He would pull up and wait for me to come and get him out or just get in so we could ride around back roads and have a few coll ones. Lone Wolf had gotten into some things like some of us seem to do and we had grown away from one another due to that. We all talked to him and tried to get him to slow down but couldn't quite reach him. Its a hard thing to put your buddy in the ground, especially one like that. Put some Hank on Buddy and when I get there I'll have my guitar!
