    12V Feeder Batteries disposal

Man, you used to be able to take these things anywhere to recycle, now, not so much.

    Suggestions?

Some places that buy scrap metal will buy lead acid batteries. I got over $100 a couple years ago trading in a dozen or so dead car batteries. Prices are probably even better now. Maybe they’re all switching over to only buying catalytic converters?

Maybe some place like batteries plus?

I’ve been wondering about this myself. I have probably a dozen or so that needs to be disposed of. Thanks for posting!

Don’t get me wrong, I have no issues with tossing them in the trash can.

Just seems like a waste of lead. I know a guy that casts his own bullets, might see if he wants them.

Just very surprising no one will take them anymore.

FYI for auto batteries. They've taken UTV batteries and given me store credit. Not sure about 12 v feeder batteries, though.

                      Autozone:
However, a more convenient option for many individuals is to drop off your battery at AutoZone in exchange for a gift card. Keep in mind, with a new purchase, you’ll be turning in your old battery for a core, but if you have an old battery that needs disposal, or several, you’ll receive a gift card for every battery you drop off!

                      O'Reilly:
Recycle Your Car Battery At O’Reilly & Get a $10 Gift Card

                      Advance:
Even if you're not purchasing a new battery, you can still drop off your old one at most Advance Auto Parts stores where you'll receive money back in the form of store credit.

The scrap yard by me takes them. It's not a huge amount but it's better that trash or burying them
