I guess I’ll be joining the chorus of GOFs nagging you guys about keeping up with your prostate health. Over the last 18 months or so my PSA has been slowly rising. Not super high - less than 5 - but going in the wrong direction and Dr Jellyfinger felt something he was concerned about. He recommended an MRI first and they saw something that needed further examination so we did a biopsy. On Friday I learned I have prostate cancer. The good news is it has not spread anywhere, is stage 2 and my “Gleason Score” is low, meaning it is not growing aggressively. After talking about the treatment options I’m going with radiation therapy and the doc says my prognosis is excellent. Treatment will involve daily radiation lasting less than 10 minutes, 5 days a week for 5 weeks. I am very glad we stayed on top of it and caught it early. I’ve learned that if ignored prostate cancer has a tendency to spread to lymph system and your bones which is an altogether different problem. As is is, just a temporary inconvenience - I have every confidence that I will soon join the KCA club!
