There is something about Mortally wounded deer.Attraction for a body of water..Maybe massive blood loss makes them thirsty?? They think Safety on the other side?? Are they Over Heated due to blood loss?? I've been in too many recovery for it to be coincidence. But could BE...

I’ve been in ‘shock’ once and almost immediately became the thirstiest I had ever been. So thirsty I was drinking lake water, literally.

I also shot a nice 9 point in Kansas a few years back. Looked for a day and a half, then we had to come home. Asu-indian and my nephew found him the following spring over a mile from where I shot him.
