First I heard of this guy was my brother carrying on about how bad he was. Then of course it’s a big sensation. So I went and bought his CD and put it in my brother’s pickup. I’m pretty sure he has never had a CD. So he just thought the radio was playing that idiot for hours!😂😂😂 it took him a while to figure out it wasn’t the radio.

He left the ring on the pillow
He left the clothes on the floor
And he called her to say he was sorry
But he couldn't remember what for
So he said I've been doin some thinkin
I've been thinkin that maybe you're right
I go to work every morning
And I come home to you every night
And you don't even know who I am
You left me a long time ago
You don't even know who I am
So what do I care if you go
You don't even know who I am
So what do I care if you go

JJW has great songs! I’m surprised they aren’t on this list

Been awhile since we bumped this thread.
Lord when I die I wanna live
            On the outskirts of Heaven
Where there's dirt roads for miles
Hay in the fields and fish in the river
Where there's dogwood trees and honey bees
And blue skies and green grass forever

                And it comes to be

                  Big John
Every morning at the mine you could see him arrive
He stood six-foot-six and weighed two-forty-five
Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip
Everybody knew you didn't give no lip to Big John

Nobody seemed to know where John called home
He just drifted into town and stayed all alone
He didn't say much, kinda quiet and shy
If ya spoke at all, ya just said hi to Big John

Somebody said he came from New Orleans
Where he got in a fight o'er a cajun queen
And a crashin' blow from a huge right hand
Sent a Lousianna fella to the promised land, Big John

Then came the day at the bottom of the mine
When a timber cracked and men started cryin'
Miners were prayin' and hearts beat fast
And everybody thought they'd breathed their last, 'cept John

Through the dust and the smoke of this man-made hell
Walked a giant of a man that the miners knew well
Grabbed the saggin' timber and gave out with a groan
And like a giant oak tree, just stood there alone, Big John

And with all of his strength he gave a mighty shove
Then a miner yelled out, there's a light up above
And twenty men scrambled from a would-be grave
now there's only one left down there to save, Big John

With jacks and timbers they started back down
Then came that rumble way down in the ground
As smoke and gas belched outta the mine
Everybody knew it was the end of the line for Big John

Now, they never re-opened that worthless pit
They just placed a marble stand in front of it
These few words are written on that stand,

At the bottom of this mine lies one Hell of a man, Big John

                              I sit corrected

Lyrics in quotes - (the second singer - harmonized with the main singer)
Acoustic with several singers - a song of one's nautical end at sea

                                SOUND OF THE SEA

We sent out the SOS call
It was a quarter past four
                                In the morning
When the storm broke our second anchor line
                                Four months at sea
                                Four months of calm seas
To be pounded in the shallows off
                                The tip of Montauk Point
                                They call them rogues
                                They travel fast and alone
                                One hundred foot faces
Of God's good ocean gone wrong
What they call love is a risk
                                You'll always get hit
                                Out of nowhere
By some wave and end up on your own
The hole in the hull defied the crews attempts
                                To bail us out
And flooded the engines and radio
                                And half buried bow
                                Your tongue is a rudder
                                It steers the whole ship
Sends your words past your lips
Or keeps them safe behind your teeth
But the wrong words will strand you
Come off course while you sleep
Sweep your boat out to sea
Or dash to bits on the reef
                                The vessel groans
                                The ocean pressures its frame
To the port I see the lighthouse
Through the sleet and the rain
And I wish for one more day
To give my love and repay debts
But the morning finds our bodies
                                Washed up thirty miles west
                                They say that the captain
                                Stays fast with the ship
                                Through still and storm
                                But this ain't the Dakota
                                The water's cold (so cold)
Won't have to fight for long
This story's old (this is the end)
But it goes on and on
Until we disappear (this is the calm)
