Midlothian curiosity ?

On 67 just west of 287, north side of the road across from the steel plants there are hundreds of wooden crates spaced out evenly over at least a few acres. They look to be pretty precisely spaced maybe 10 to 15 feet apart. Any ideas on contents and reason for the spacing?

None of my business at all but I’m always fascinated by industrial operations and always try to find out what a particular plant makes, what a machine does and stuff like that when I’m driving by.

Solar plant. I was told it is being built by the rebar manufacturer b/c they use electricity to smelt the scrap iron. Due to the electrical situation in Texas they are limited to only smelting at night. This is supposed to allow them to smelt more. Not sure if that’s true b/c these are popping up all over. I am sure it’s a solar plant.
