Square makes more practical use of counter space. Round is more elegant and fits round plates better.

Why not just take a square waffle iron and pour some batter in the middle of the square. But not all the way to the edge. And make a round waffle in a square waffle iron?

You can make a round waffle in a square waffle iron. But you can't make a square waffle in a round waffle iron.

When it comes to food I could give a RIP about the shape. I eat like a cow. Round or square is irrelevant. Case in point—Concerning cows and hay

      Round bale— It’s hay….they don’t care

      Square bale—It’s hay….they don’t care

And why—— Cause they’re cows and they just don’t care

Pass the butter and syrup please.

I was way too old by the time I discovered the genius of laying strips of fried bacon on top of the batter before closing the lid on the waffle iron.

Mine are usually elongated the (next day) and I don’t care if they’re round or square the first day as long as they’re accompanied by bacon.

                      This. ^^^

My reply was gonna mention bacon for sure. It’s been too long since this guy had any real bacon. Blackberry jam n butter seem to get along well with waffles too. Never an argument.

The real question is….. do you eat them stacked or in singles ?? I prefer stacked, with hot sausage.

Stacked. I ain't never just ate A waffle so I don't even like to pretend like I'm gonna. I don't like eating stuff in odd numbers either for that reason. I'm never just gonna eat one of something. Two maybe, for a snack. If I open a pack of Egos I just eat all of them because they don't have re-sealable packaging. They'll get freezer burnt so I go ahead and eat em all.
