The only way to gamble is to own the house or book. You always have the vig or juice to fall back on. LOL

I’ve played Texas Hold ‘Em for over 20 years now. That’s really all I play in a casino. It’s the only game I’ve made significant money playing. Occasionally I drop a few chips on the outside roulette board. Got a local hold ‘em cash game tonight.

If I am going to gamble it is to try and win some money, not interested in sitting in a casino for several hours and either win or lose a couple hundred bucks, I have to play more high stakes, the problem with that is when you lose it hurts a lot more. Because of this I rarely will go to a casino, about once a year I may get into a friendly card game with some buds.

I play the table game Ultimate Texas Hold’m I normally stay away from slots. I do play some poker video slots. My wife and I usually put $200 in the green machine on the way to the room every night and have won some there. It’s amazed how people sit down at a table not knowing how to play a game. There are so many videos and books how to play and dont want to lose study the game inside and out before you go.

People like me are the reason they have a number people can call if they like gambling too much. I try not to go but every once in a while.

I don't take Kenny Rogers words to heart. "Gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away and when to run."

It's been a common occurrence at the casino for my buddy to nudge me and say "Man you're doing good. Better cash out." Every time I'm like "Dude no way. I'm doing good."
Wish I had your luck once or twice.
My people tell me "You have the worst luck you better quit and leave" LOL And I'm serious.

Here's one for antler (not really bad luck). Guess what two cards I was holding playing a super tight 1/2 NLH table. When there was a raise to $15 about 50% of the time the entire table folded.

Guy first to act raises to $25 (I said crap obviously QQ or KK but maybe JJ or AA.
I call everyone else folds and table knows it will get good LOL
            Flop comes 9JJ (rainbow)
Guy bets $30 and I call
Turn card is a 3 and he checks
I bet $40 he calls after some thought.
river is a 10 for board of 9JJ3 10 and he checks.
I bet $100 He thinks a while and calls.

It seems like everyone I’ve talked to about this always wins….Don’t know how casinos stay in business.

We go to Vegas 2-3 times a year…usually spring, summer and December for NFR. I tell people only take as much money as you are willing to lose. August I hit back to back slots at Mirage…$3k and $3700. I tipped the waitress $100. I usually go pretty well on slots…

I’m never going to risk (you call it betting) enough so that what I would win, would change my life.

I could literally win a million bucks after tax and the next morning I’d be driving the same car, living in the same house, wearing the same clothes, and the same watch, and working my same job.

Plus casinos combine the two of the things that I hate the most… Smoking and gambling.

I’ve done decent on blackjack but the past 4-5 times I’ve been to the casino I’ve lost my wad in 10 mins. Went gambling for my first time in Shreveport for my bachelor party. Sat down at a blackjack table and started to get the hang of it. I win more on the side bets than actual black jack. My buddy hit 30:1 side bet 5 times that night. Couldn’t believe it. Of course lost it all. I’ll usually bet my whole stack on my last hand and I’d say I’m 50/50 on that. Probably down $500 for my whole casino run. I have an itch to go back soon. If I win decent money on my best trip I’ll probably never set foot in a casino ever again.

I like Mississippi Stud. I win pretty consistently at black Jack but don’t enjoy it. Will occasionally play some slots, but have never done well. I play a lot of hold ‘em, which is where I’ve won the most

Blackjack can be a wild ride, especially with those side bets – your buddy hitting 30:1 multiple times is legendary! But, I totally get the highs and lows. Maybe consider setting a budget for each visit to keep things in check and extend the fun.On a different note, have you ever thought about diversifying your thrills with 2nd half college football picks? It's a cool way to switch things up. The unpredictability of the game keeps the excitement alive, and it's a different kind of rush compared to casino play.

When living in Houston, went into one of the downtown banks and there were balloons everywhere saying "Congratulations" and one of the tellers names. I went over and said happy birthday and she said it's not her birthday. Promotion? Nope. She pulled the lever on one of those oversized slot bandits and won $247000 on a trip to Vegas. Oh my......new car on the horizon? No, but I'm getting 4 new tires for the truck I drive.
