    Need info. on security/surveillance cameras

The company is a aerospace manufacturing plant (about 30,000 sf. if this info. is needed) and we're looking to get a security/surveillance system for the INSIDE of the shop. Does anyone have any recommendations for a GOOD quality setup with around 8-10 cameras. I assume most everything now is digital. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Are you looking for a DIY or for somebody to install a turnkey system? I've see them at Fryes electronics but have no 1st hand experience.

DIY - Fry's or costco / sams has stuff like that. If you know anybody that works for one of the home security companies they may do something on the side.... (off the record) non monitored. I would go digital with a DVR. If you have an good pc you can install the cards $75 and that will give you 4 cameras per card you will needs a few cards and a large external hard drive.

We sell/install Cisco security systems (video and physical build on top of a Cisco infrastructure). It all depends on the quality of video you want. HD cameras will allow you to zoon in and read the text on a computer screen from the other side of a warehouse. From what I've heard, most residential installers don't want to touch a business install because of the additonal red tape and liability.

Dejashoot - That's probably more along the lines of what we're lookin for, the HD stuff. What kind of price range would we be lookin at with an 8-10 camera setup with the good stuff? (bells and whistles, etc.) Yeah, we're probably not talking about a residential installer as this will, I assume, be a fair sized system.

Just my opinion , but considering the application... you need to refer to a resource outside of deer hunting forum.

Have you contacted any of your trusted vendors to ask what systems they use? Then check those references by their other customers' reviews? Surely a reputable security company would provide refererences. Good luck.
