Anybody use one? My new garmin unit has a big long transducer that sprays water all over. Sprays my outboard and my talon. I Google and there are a bunch of shapes and styles of deflectors. Any real word experience for anyone?

I guess there are more types of transducers than I realized, or someone is just using a word that sounded cool to them. I have only know of pressure transducers. I don't think a fish finder would have any purpose for a pressure transducer. Reading the title and the first post, I was lost. The only transducers I know of, are sensors for pressure, used for fuel pressure, oil pressure, hydraulic pressure, manifold pressure. I am pretty sure the electronic scales use large flat pressure transducers. I think the equipment they use to measure pressures in a chamber of a gun, are pressure transducers.
So putting a shield on a transducer, did not make much sense to me. I guess Garmin likes the word and used the name for their sensors. Maybe they are correct in using the word, maybe there are other types of transducers. But my understanding of how a transducer/pressure transducer works. I would not think it any variation of a transducer would be of any help with a fish finder.
I guess I will have to research transducers.
