    MLD Harvest Map

I remember there being a map you could highlight your property boundaries on and it would estimate the number of tags that would be given under MLD. Does anyone have the link?

Don’t have the link but it’s a good tool. The Harvest option is very stingy with tags though. They want you enrolled in the paid program

Using this map, it gave us 22 bucks and 36 does. Our $300 MLD program gave us 36/36

It is ridiculous…we hunt 460 acres in Karnes county and when we were on MLD we usually got 2-3 buck tags and 5-6 for tags. The map thing just gives us 1 buck and 2 does.

The map is giving me 17 bucks and 50 doe on 2500 acres in the western edge of the hill country.

Holy hell guys, its meant to be conservative. No way to give an exact recommendation on a purely automated system that isn't based on localized conditions. Herd characteristics vary substantially from property to property, so to avoid overharvesting, it is meant to be conservative. If you want a recommendation specific to your property and herd characteristics, get in the Conservation Option, or, just do your own surveys.

I actually feel like 50 doe on our property is a little heavy. Might consider doing it though so those of us who actually shoot doe can pick up the slack for those who don't.

That is very cool. Says we should be shooting 22 bucks and 64 does on our place in Sutton county. We are not shooting nearly enough does which is what I have been saying for years.

If I were to go off of the estimator it gives me (1) antlerless tag only.

It gives me zero and I get 2 tags each year in the conservation option. I wouldn't put too much stock in an automated tool that appears to be heavily based on just land area.

The estimator is bs. For our property it estimated 1 buck tag and 3 doe tags. First year under MLD conservation option we got 12 buck and 8 doe tags.

36 bucks and 80 doe, pretty close to what we get.
