    Appraising used bows

How do you come up with a value on a bow once it's passed the 3-4 year old mark? Is there a rule of thumb on age vs value lost?

Watch classifieds here and on archery talk. If you’re off by 10 percent, it’s a $50 loss. If you’re high, it won’t sell and you can always come down.

This, old bows are typically bought by budget hunters, as backups, or someone just really likes the bow. Search whatever bow you're referring to on AT classifieds and go through the ones that have sold. It will give you an idea of what someone will pay.

Like stated, using Classifieds here, Archery Talk and eBay give you a great idea of value. I think getting a sense of your expected vs accepted number is key.

I have used ebay before to get an idea. Then again I have seen guy's try and get what they paid for a 10 year old bow.

But you can just add it to your watch list- and cull those out!
