To 4x4 or not to 4x4?

Just wondering how many of ya actually use your 4x4 all the time, have one and dont really need it, or have a 2 wheel drive and get by just fine?

My truck is 2wd and don't need a 4x4 most of the time, but there have been numerous times where 4x4 would've saved me. Some times its as simple as hitting the woods after a rain by myself and getting stuck. Sure sucks having to wait for someone to come pull you out.

I have 4X4, don't use it that often. But when you need it it is worth every penny.

from experience, I don't have it and 99% of the time probably don't needed but its that 1% of the time that (to me) makes it worth the extra money. I will NOT own another 2X4 truck.

I will always have a 4X4.... If you need it.. you need it! I have locking hubs and manually lock them in when it is needed.

this past season i used it around 10-20 times. 95% of those times was because i was in sand either on the ranch or down on PINS but two seasons ago when it was WET i used it a lot, 50-75 times, atleast. I know a hand full of people that just buy it because it makes the truck look either bigger or tougher **** city boys!

Better to have and not need than need and not have.

My place has good roads until it rains.I can still get through in 2wd,but with 4wd I don't have to spin the tires and tear up the roads.Like others have said 99% of the time you won't need it.

I'm not going to say I use it all of the time but I have used it many, many times. I live in the woods and have used it a couple of times to pull my tractor out of the creek (oops), pull other people out of the mud, at my old deer lease in east texas, etc. Sometimes it is months between uses, but when I need it, I NEED it! Just bought my second one a couple of weeks ago. Its 4 wheel drive or nothing for me.

Same here. The last truck I bought was a 2 wheel dr. cuz I had an old 4x4. Well its broke down now and I'm still kickiing myself in the butt. 4x4 from now on! Last time the wife and I went to Cotulla to fill feeders I got stuck on dry ground, after much shoveling and praying I got out. Woulda been fine with the other two wheels pulling.
