I just got out there and did it. Once I got confident at one distance I’d then move back 10 yards and repeat. If your bow is in tune it really isn’t that difficult. Get a sight that is extended at least several inches in front of the front of your bow. My pins are about 5 inches in front of my bow frame and 7.5 inches in front of my arrow rest. I won’t hesitate to let one fly at an elk 100 yards out if the conditions aren’t extreme.
I’m sure better advice will be forthcoming.

Get a rifle you can find ammo for. Get a decent piece of glass 4-16 with adjustable turrets.
Its very easy actually, you need to know 2 very important things ballistic coefficient of the projectiles and TRUE muzzle velocity.
Download ballistic AE app. It’s a great start.
Where are you located?

do you want to shoot 1 target for small group size at a given distance (benchrest style), or multiple targets over a course (PRS style) ?
do you currently own a rifle, rest, optics, and accessories capable of shooting LR ?
do you reload your own ammo ? Not mandatory but highly recommended for precision LR accuracy.
Before giving lesson recommendations, we need to know other factors and what discipline you intend to shoot.

what's your budget ?
you can easily spend $1000 for a factory rifle or north of $3500+ for a custom build
glass is gonna set you back $800 ~ $3000+
so basically, you're looking at $2K for a rifle/scope set-up ready to go.
You can shop the market and buy someone's used rifle (setup) for their selling price which vary tremendously. Most of these bare rifles will weigh around 11 ~ 13 lbs, add glass which will push the scale at 13 ~ 15 lbs.
Savage Model 12 long range target rifles aren't gonna win any beauty pageants but they shoot very good out of the box. Solid accurate rifle for the money, great value.

Long range shooting
Just do meth. It’s cheaper and less addictive. [emoji2]
In all seriousness, your budget is what you need to figure out. High quality glass is way more important than your rifle.
