I bought a Kawasaki because a Scag used the same motor. I figured if it was good enough for 10k mower it had to be good. I’m going on ten years with a Toro mowing one acre. I’ve had to replace several bearings on the deck, but haven’t touched the motor.

They put Kohlers and Vanguards on Scags too.
I don’t think they have used Kohlers in the last 2 years though…

        This.

I have a 37hp Briggs on my Ferris. It cost more than the 35hp Kawasaki they offer.

I’ve had both and I couldn’t tell a difference. Currently have a Hustler with a Kawasaki engine. It’s been a good one for many years.

I’ve owned a grasshopper mower with a Koehler engine in it for 18 years, I have mowed a lot with this mower and it is still going.

I didn't read any of the replies, so in case it wasn't mentioned....Kawasaki.

Are you Positive that the Koehler isn’t just assembled in the US?

Got a 2006 Bad Boy with 30hp Koehler & all I’ve done is add oil & hydraulic fluid when it gets low & change air filter for last 16 years & it hasn’t missed a beat. My dad said it should be on display at Bad Boy showcasing the durability because I’ve run it thru some serious brush, samplings etc. & it just keeps going.

I have had a Kohler for 8 years. 250 hours on it. Zero issues. Been told the Kawasaki has more power.

I’ve got a 2007 grasshopper with over 1000 hours (meter quit). Koehler still going strong.
