Smallmouth trip

I took my son up to University of Michigan for a gymnastics camp and unofficial visit. We tacked on a guided smallmouth trip with Scott Dobson, FLW 2019 angler of the year. Lake St.Clair is legendary, and we got on some good fish.

Awesome. I’m a serious smallmouth fisherman, but our creek and river fish up here don’t hold a candle to those.

Bucket list is right. This trip was kinda unplanned, but came together at the last minute when I realized we hand most of a day free and how close we were to some of the worlds best smallmouth fishing.

Wow. My experience catching smallmouth is in the rivers of Arkansas, Missouri and NE Oklahoma- nothing close to that size! Bet that was a tail-walking air flippin fight!
