There is too much to learn to do it right and significant liability if you screw up. I left LE 12 years ago and never looked back. Great decision and perfect timing for me with the housing market the last decade.

The real estate market has slowed and it would be a tough time to start out. Another inspector friend of mine is talking about getting out of it because he’s had one inspection in the last 2 weeks. I’ve been busy but my company is well established.

Pm me if you have any questions.

Chew you have something here. There are some odd ones running around out there. Of course that also goes for several detectives I’ve known. Haha

Really good point here. The market is getting slower and you also have to take into consideration the saturation factor. Real story. Years ago some friends got divorced here in Katy. I told you should told me. I coulda given you a break on the listing. He replied “ I didn’t use any of my Realtor friends”. Me “ well how many do you have”? “Seven here in Katy”. Que stunned reaction in 3,2,1.
That was in 2008 when the bottom fell out. I was able to sell the rest of my listings and left R E in 2009.

I never thought about this but you are spot on.

I’m seeing some husband and wife teams here of late.

$500-$700. Depends on location and drive for appraiser.

I went to a course at Champions School of Real Estate back in ‘07 (right before the housing crash). I think it cost me around $2500 for the course and books. I worked under my father in law but the combination of my age at the time and the market, I couldn’t make it. The money was too inconsistent because I wasn’t old & grey.
