    Best way to kill cactus?

What is the best method to killing and controlling cactus?

My property has very few cactus but some are coming up in probably a 5-10 acre area. I'd like to knock them out before the spread.

I am assuming the best method is spraying them. But with what?

Also, at this time I do not have any heavy equipment to get rid of them and I do not think there are enough to justify this.

I don’t know about that..you will disturb the seed bed and need to spray whatever else will come up.

Mezavue is the latest and greatest herbicide for cactus. It kills cactus faster than Tordon 22K.

Surmount, Tordon 22k, or MezaVue. Those are the chemicals to use if you are strictly targeting pear. Follow label and then wait. MezaVue has quickest kill time, but all three chemicals work great.

1 quart Remedy and 3 quarts of diesel mix. Spray in the middle of the day. This will also kill trees so be careful.

Get a grubbing hoe, dig them up by the roots, drag and stack them on top of each other so the ones on the bottom get no sun. They will die. Then the small ones will keep coming up, so you will need to repeat. Not fun, but it's free exercise. Avoid heat stroke and wear good leather gloves and boots. You can always hire someone certified to spray. Talk to your county extension agent.

Dog ‘em up by the roots and pile them on top of each other on a gravel drive, add diesel, and .
Don't push them they will spread or try to burn where they have the possibility of growing back.
