Anyone get new PEC service lately around Burnet / Lampas

I'm looking to get new electrical service on my property south of Lampasas.

Looking through the PEC options for service I can do the rack or pole.

Which ever I use I will go underground to shop/well/house from there.

Has anyone had anyone come out and sink a pole lately? Think i'd rather have a pole than the rack system.

Will go to PEC tomorrow to put in my application. They may have folks to recomend, but figure I'd ask the greenscreen

Overhead will be the cheaper option. With a member owned pole you can go 40’ from the PEC transformer pole. With a 200a service you can put your meter socket on that pole and youd only trench from there to your shop. PEC won’t inspect after the meter so you wouldn’t have to trench to PEC specs.

If you went underground from the PEC transformer pole, you would be trenching all the way from your shop to the pole, and PEC would be inspecting the whole thing. The 90 degree sweep at the base of the pole has to be encased in concrete. You would supply all conduit as well as the riser and weather head material.

sorta, but if I went with the rack, the trench would only be from transformer pole to rack. From there I would trench to the well, shop & house for their lines. Think I like the simplicity of the pole. Now gotta find out who sinks poles in the Burner/Lampasas area.

You will be doing all of the trenching both before and after the meter. PEC doesn’t do any trenching.
Yes the member owned pole would be the fastest/cheapest option. You can usually buy them preassembled with the meter can and raceway already installed.
