Had mine done on May 10th. Went smooth. Nerve block and drugs make day 1& 2 a blur. Day 3-7 kinda stunk. One complication was my quad did I not wake up for 2 1/2 weeks. Really made me nervous but it finally did . I am a little behind the curve with quad only firing at about 60%. Walking , driving, etc without a problem . Just can’t step up yet with new knee yet. Getting a little better each day. My suggestions
      1) find a very comfy set of shoes you can slip on easy that have a back
      2) sleep with a pillow between your knees. Until I did this I basically could not sleep.
      3) do your PT , everyday.
      4) easy to get discouraged by the end of week one but it turns and the pain goes away sometime in the 2 to 3 week and then it is just a matter of getting everything firing and bending correctly again.

Good luck and I hope yours goes off without a hitch.

It will hurt pretty bad for a week or so, then it gets better every day. Do your PT then keep doing it a home like they say. The more you push it, the better it gets and will be. Had mine 2 years ago and don't even think about it now. Best thing i could have ever done. Get well soon and speedy recovery.

I'm scheduled for August 8th on the right knee. If it all goes well, then the left knee later in the fall. Put on 15 lbs in the last two years because I had to get off the elliptical and treadmill. Tried the shots and gel shots with immediate but very short lived relief, but it's time.

Pain is much worse since nerve block wore off.

I was about to ask for an update and afraid that was gonna be the case. My mil had both knee replacements done at the same time. At the time she said it was the single worst decision she's ever made in her life.

Good luck with the soreness. This will be me one day, except with my back. Doctors want to remove and replace two discs in my lower back, and i’m only 33.

Hope it all works out for your movement. They seem to have replacements figured out pretty good.

They kept me another day. The leg was hurting over the top and felt like it was cramping. Gave me a few stronger pain meds.

My crazy Old Man had them both done at the same time. They had him doing PT that afternoon. He came home and then got pneumonia and was in the ICU for 3 days and almost died. He still says it was the best thing he ever did...
