    Attention Bird Experts

What kind of birds are these that are nesting in all my trees? I am thinking some sort of Heron or Cormorant. Lots of crawfish shells on the ground under their nests.

    Can I kill them?

    Pics to Follow.

Definitely don’t want to kill those, unless you’d like to be closely acquainted with the game warden.

Looks like the interweb shows it to be a juvenile yellow-crowned night heron. Couldn't find if it's protected or not. Ask a game warden.

Looks like some kind of rail. No you cannot kill them. Legally anyway.

If it’s not a pigeon you can’t kill it. All birds are protected.

Just don't scare them into the powerlines and put half the town out of power like on the 4th of July.

Night herons and illegal to kill IF caught. Also cannot mess with nest or trees while nesting.

Yellow Crowned Night Heron. And it won't be just a state offense by TP&W. You could get charged by the Feds also. Double indemnity.

Takes them 3-4 years to reach mature plumage.

Primary diet is crawfish, small crabs, and crustaceans, ect.

Those are dodo's. Dont shoot them. Call national geographic and get a photo shoot on a formerly extinct species
