    Clover lawn

Anyone planted their lawn in clover instead of grass? Pros/cons. Considering it but not sure how bad fighting weeds from the pasture behind us will be.

Most clovers will have a growing season primarily from Jan.Feb and then go to seed in April . So you would have a brown yard, or other grasses/weeds after that.

Clover is normally the ugliest section of a yard

Buffalo grass maybe, low water and not mowed very often if at all.

Cacti and other xeriscaping plants would be a better choice for midland

Trying to avoid that. I do have some buffalo grass but never been good at getting it to germinate.
For what it's worth I do have a degree in turfgrass I just don't use it anymore lol. I've gotten to the opinion yards of grass are a waste. We grow vegetable plant starts for a side business and considering making the back pasture a market farm. Did some research on clover yards and the attraction is pollinators.

It is all the rage in Paris. ;-). Seriously, a lot of Europe utilizes clover instead of grass.

Have you looked into Dichondra. This worked for me in shade.

I did look at it some. But mine will be full sun. Going off Google there are some people in Arizona with green clover lawn through summer. They are using strawberry clover. It's cheap, I'm going to try a sample spot I think.

Micro clover, unless you like the blooms.

My son was considering this. Have you done it, and if so how'd it go?
