I kinda like it when I’m at work. When it gets hot, it’s hands off at work. Lots of shop time!!! Helping to keep the AC on for all y’all folks!!!
But now that I’m starting my 7 days off, working around the house in 105 degree heat ain’t gonna be fun.

I didn't realize I was so close to you this past weekend, spent a few days being scorched at Jellystone in Burleson.

I lived in DFW for 64 years. The last few years before we moved the heat was wearing me down. In the metroplex the concrete, asphalt, brick buildings, houses, etc. retain the heat. It doesn't cool down that much at night. I would get up at 5:00am to go to work, go out in the garage and it would still be 90 degrees.

One night an aerosol can (insecticide) exploded from the heat in our garage. It went through the garage ceiling and into the attic. It blasted the side of my white truck white with brown liquid that would not wash off. Fortunately my friends at Clark Brothers Paint and Body in Arlington buffed it out for me.

We will have a few 90+ degree days degree days during the summer here in Iowa, but not many. We have a lot of low 60s to mid 50s summer mornings that feel awesome. Our forecast for the next week looks great.

There is the can that exploded in our garage and the hole in the ceiling.

I was helping my dad and brother cut fence post in the Trinity River bottoms in Navarro Co and build fence. Me and my brother fought over who would watch dad weld with the bucket of water and toad sack when he was putting the corner post up to keep from burning the place down! Man it was hot that summer!!!

Maybe all those folks who moved here will not like it and leave too

With you Geezy.... and I DO NOT AT ALL do cold... hence I love Texas. I will never say I hate anything about my life. Not speaking those words

That's when I learned that living in Texas, you do NOT own a black truck with a black interior. Went out after work one day and all my 8 track tapes were melted. Even the steering wheel was mushy.

I’m afraid of what’s gonna happen to the critters and the trees if we don’t get some rain in Sonora soon!!!!

I lost a few post oaks and jack oaks recently and have noticed the Hackberry trees started losing leaves. My neighbor has a Live Oak that is dropping very small acorns right now, they are about 1/4 inch in size. I guess heat stress has caused that.

I am real concerned about fires and have run a disc around the perimeter of most of my place.
