    Traffic Attorney Needed Gillespie County

Well my heavy foot got away from me this weekend and I got a pretty sizable citation in Gillespie County. Really want to see if I can keep it off my record and insurance, any recommendations for a lawyer in Gillespie County?

Defensive driving or some towns will let you pay a portion of the fine and give you 90 days to not get another ticket in that town. If you get one within the 90 days they both go on your record if you don't, no harm no foul and ur g2g

No option for deferred adjudication or defensive driving course? You must have really been flying LOL

I call the lawyer and ask his fee - and then say I will double that to make it go away. Worked every time...

I got hit with an "unsafe lane change" on top of the speeding, for quickly existing the left passing lane. Which isnt cheap, and I am scared is going to make it harder to DD my way out of things. I havent reached out to the actual court yet, just wanted to see what my options are, if any.

Go to the DA's office and talk with the DA. Ask if he will accept the fine for the ticket and drop the speed below the points level(if they do that in TX).

In GA if you are 14 MPH or less over the limit you don't get points.

The last speeding ticket I got, on December 01, 1991, the Trooper dropped it to 68 in a 55 on the side of the road. I just mailed in the check.

Just call the judge and ask for his cash price.

All they care about is getting they’re fine money. You can make a deal

How exactly do yall see this negotiation with the DA going?

"I am aware the citation I received is for X dollars, but I tell you what, today is your lucky day. I will give you Y dollars today...cash, as long as you dont tell anyone *whispers* especially my insurance company". Slaps the desk top and winks.

                          Is that how it goes?

I think what they are saying is, offer to pay the full price of the ticket, but drop the speed to something a bit lower. That is what I have done with great success several times.

Most towns just want the $$$ and have no interest in running up your insurance rates. Not to mention, if your insurance rates go up, you will be more apt to drive slowly through their town again, and will have less cash to pay the ticket next time you come flying through town.

I think I would try just a bit more tact.
I would think just asking if we could pay a fine with a "probation" time or something. Maybe take defensive driving class to help curb further/future financial damage?
Let them say yeah or nay or maybe make a counter offer.
If neither transpires, you know you got a fight on your hands.
