Those wanting a bear to lessen the pig problem ain't thinking too good. For starters, just imagine the walk in the dark to and from the deer stand which is near where the bear waits for his prey.

We didn’t use corn back then. We were real hunters. Didn’t need ac ( air conditioning) either. We were mean mamajamas.

I bet that was a noisy event.

You know it was. The bear did not grab it by the neck and bite down. So he had a very loud squeaky toy for a while there, before it became dinner.

I have black bears in my west Texas lease, they do nothing but destroy deer feeders.

Not just the bears, the bull elk’s damage the feeder motors due to their tall antlers.

One bull would use its big rack to knock the motor around to spread more corn.

Last year we had one bear that damaged one feeder twice in 2 months. Then after the last weekend, we had 4 out of 5 feeders thrown down with their legs bent, and had their barrels smashed like beer cans.

One place I hunt has a few bears…. But now has a ton of hogs. So they ain’t keeping up

Bears don’t bother me there cause I ain’t hunting bait they just cruise by… pigs still clear the area when they “cruise by”

And agreed they are an overgrown coon
