My wife and I participated in the Hike to Hunt in Angel Fire, NM, last weekend. We did the Rinehart course. 21 targets. Probably 15 of the targets were staged at least 60 yards out (though you can move as close as you want) with 8 of those 80+ yards. The shoot was a lot of fun.
PROS: 1)Definitely put you in some expected wilderness hunting situations with distance and obstacles.
2) Beauty of the mountains
CONS: 1) Advertised online as having a warm-up area but we were never given directions to the warm up area. We did find it at the END of the course.
2) Some of the set-ups as they criss-crossed the ski slope felt a little too close. Several of the targets I would holler at the couple in front of us to make sure they were clear. I felt the angle put any misses/ricochets into the path of the shooters in front of us.
We would definitely recommend it. It was a lot of fun!Comment
