Deer finding new feeder
06-15-2022, 07:21 AM
I’m sure it’s all over the board, but how long does it generally take for deer (and hogs) to find a new feeder? Especially in an area that hasn’t been hunted in 5 years.

Depends on area and if they are used to corn. I’ve seen areas of East Texas that it took several months for them to start eating regularly.

Scatter a bunch of corn in the area, especially along established trails, and it won't take more than a few days.

E Tx, I've had them find it in a day.
If you put it in an area they aren't using it may take a while.

Depends but usually Not very long, under a week, especially if you put something sweet smelling out to help them find it.

Near water or trails to water or good bedding within a day. If none of that then much longer.
