I was divorced 30 years ago with no children. My wife hired an attorney for about $300 at the time but just to make sure the paperwork was correct. She wanted him to drop the uncontested divorce paperwork. Everything was settled by us. She took the dresser with the mirror and I was left with the chest of drawers. We had two televisions since she got the larger one. We had two cars and she got the newer one. She left me in the home that we have been paying for about 3 years since she did not want to take up the notes. I still owed money on the car that I got but it was in her credit unionā€˜s account so I had to go get a separate loan in my name.

That was it. I got register letter from her attorney that I signed saying that I agree with those conditions. A couple of months later I got a letter in the mail that said I was divorced.

      Same now?

I know what the lawyer fee was very minimal and just for the paperwork. Like said above, the decision were from our private discussions and that was that.
