A trip to Northern KY popped up for me next week, destination near Cincinnati. Have some slack time on my return trip, any suggestions as to where to visit? Off the beaten path is my preference. Bourbon, nature, people, and food all are interest. Thanks,

See if any of the distilleries are doing tours, or aren't booked up months out. I've done Angel's Envy (tasting), but have heard great things about Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Evan Williams, and Woodford Reserve.
Louisville Slugger factory and museum tour is fabulous too!
And it's "Lou-uh-vull."Last edited by kry226; 06-10-2022, 05:30 PM.

That’s a little
Unique for me I think. Where is Hazzard County?

wdtorque,
I live in Cincinnati. Happy to get on a call with you if you like and try and tailor a visit that you'll enjoy. PM if you want and I'll share my cell.
Broad strokes: check out Covington on the Northern Kentucky side and Over the Rhine on the Cincy side. Tons of good bars and restaurants. Covington has some great bourbon bars. In fact, we call it the gateway to the bourbon trail.
Regarding nature, Kentucky has a lot to offer and so does Cincy, but I'd need to know how far you'd like to drive and what interests you.

I lived in Louisville for 4 years and absolutely loved it-- Tons to do, there is the 'urban' bourbon tour around the city as well as the full sized main distilleries to visit that are scattered all over N. Ky.
If you end up in Louisville there are some great places to eat depending on how fancy you wanna go-
Fancy-- Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse (in Cincy, Lexington or Louisville), The Brown Hotel (home of the Hot Brown- delicious!)
More laid back-- Garage Bar, Frankfort Ave Beer Depot (amazing food), Mamas Mustard Pickles&BBQ--
Dude--- I could go on for days about the food and drink in Louisville-you'll be hard pressed to go wrong-
Lexington-- If you head to Lexington before going over to Bardstown or other distillery areas be sure to stop at the hole in the wall-- Wallace Station-- phenomenal deli and bakery.
Oh-- and if you enjoy firearms the actual storefront for KYGunCo is in the area as well!
