    Vacation Lake ideas for family.

Looking to take the family on vacation in July. Would like to stay in Texas and no further than 4 hours from Houston. Would prefer a house over a hotel or townhome on the water. I would like to tow our bay boat with us so lake access and dock are a must have. Kids enjoy swimming, fishing and being outside. Family of 5 kids ages 3, 7 and 15. Plan would be to stay for a week. Any recommendations from past experiences are appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Isn’t Houston 4 hours wide?

I do work for Lake Tyler Petroleum Club and they have some nice cabins they rent out. The grounds are spotless and so are the cabins. Boat ramp, pier, kayaks, swimming pool, you name it. I'd go there if I didn't live next door to it. lol

Lake Whitney is a great lake. About 3.5 hours away. Walling Bend park has great access for cliff jumping. We do a trip once a year there.

We did a family trip last year to Conroe. It was really nice. We were lake front, it was a huge house as there was about 15 of us. The neighborhood we stayed had pools all over and we had access. We took boats and we caught tons of catfish right off our dock. Just get on Airbnb and you can find a place wherever you’re looking.

Last I checked, there were a few Air BNB's on Houston County Lake in Crockett. If you haven't been there before, its a great escape that will be about 2-2.5 hrs from you in League City. There is also cabins to rent at the marina, but I can't speak to the quality.

Lake Hawkins. You can rent an rv (I know a guy, lol) and stay at their awesome park. Or I’m sure there are numerous airb&b on lake with all you need

It’s a little further than you’re looking for but Possum Kingdom would be my go to. Great water to enjoy water sports with the kids and fishing is on fire there. Take the kids and snag a bunch of perch and the. Find the channel next to rock bluffs and drop those perch down and hang on. Stripers are plentiful.

I rented cabins and a pontoon boat in Arkansas on lake Bull shoals for 1800.
I know that is farther than you mention but Arkansas might be an option

Gonna be slim picking this close to the fourth most of the good spots book up by March..

But there's always cancellations so I'd check airBNB/VRBO every couple days.
