    Fair price for shredding now?

I just don't have the time. What do you think a fair price would be to pay for shredding? Per acre...Per hour? About 35 ac of mixed pasture and thin woods.

I’m charging $70/hour and can do a little over 2 acres/hour if the grass is really tall and thick.

I paid $125 hour. He had a huge bat wing and did 12-14 acres of open field in about 3 hours.
Price includes his hauling time and fuel costs.

I mow for neighbors twice a year and get $150 ea time. Less than 2 ac but takes me about 3hrs. Lots of "obstacles" to mow around
Only reason I do it is because I want on their good side in case they ever decide to sell

If I was in the business of making money doing it there is no way I would do it for less than $100/hr.

Paid $80/hr last year in Hallettsville. Im sure that price went up with Diesel.

A decent rule of thumb is $10 per foot of implement per hour.

                  15’ batwing = $150 per hour

                  6’ shredder = $60 per hour

Obviously conditions and distance to job will have a bearing on price. You can’t haul a farm tractor very far on good will.
