    Bush/shrub ID

About 10' tall so maybe not a bush/shrub but definitely not a tree either
Thought it was yaupon at first but has stickers all over the limbs.
Whatever it is it got basal sprayed with remedy/diesel

PictureThis Ap said Possumhaw holly one time and Cockspur Hawthorn the next. Not sure either is right ID as I do not ever remember seeing any "fruit" on them.

Smaller ones are slick bark and larger ones are rougher bark

          Thanks

Probably missed a few but sprayed them pretty hard while spraying honey and black locusts

Not possumhaw (deciduous holly), possumhaw is thornless. Believe this is Hercules club.

Almost looks like a Tickletounge tree, or also called Prickly Ash

Was thinking that too but the hard cracked bark and leaf
Didn’t seem right for prickly ash.

Looks like lime prickly ash, but the rough bark has me confused.

Crush and smell some leaves. Prickly ash will have a citrus smell.

Definitely not prickly ash / tickle tongue. I know what that it and can get some pics of that too.
At least what was always called tickle tongue where I was raised

                            I'm thinking possibly Cockspur Hawthorn.

There is so little difference in them, other than the Mayhaw.
