Freezer door left open. Won't cool. Any suggestions?

Daughter left the door open for 2 days on my 1 yr old upright freezer. Im not gonna be home for awhile so wife had to throw out an insane amount of game and fish meat.

Wife says it has power but not cooling at all. Any ideas on what needs to be replaced or recommendations for an appliance repair guy in Midlothian?

(I posted a request for repair recommendations but im gonna delete it if I can)

try unplug it and see if it will reset. they have a overload on them.

If it has been emptied, I would unplug it and leave door open for a day or so, less if you direct a fan into it and let it defrost totally. I would bet it would be fine after that.

        Did you buy a warranty?
I ask because I did with mine from Lowes and they sent me a check for the total price of the freezer to be replaced instead of just fixing the product.

It's probably completely froze up from running constantly

Kids did the same to mine when it was just a few months old, wife has done it once as well. Do like mentioned and unplug and let sit. Once it had set and thawed it worked when plugged in again.

Happened recently to ours but older unit.

Appliance guy said to let it set as mentioned and then when turned on to rap on the compressor with a wrench or something to see if that will jar it back into starting. He said the extended run from the door being open sometimes overheat the compressor.

Usually it freezes up when it left open

Turning off and washing out overnight

                  Next day good to go

I put child safety latches on my freezer doors, wife would not make sure they were closed and would also slam the door causing them to pop back open. Since the latches have been installed no more issues.

The condenser is all froze up from warm moist air getting in creating condensation then ice. Remove everything, unplug, leave the doors open to thaw it out quicker. Once it all melts, clean it up. Close door and plug it back in- it should be fine.
