I’m in rockport hanging out and doing some fishing. I don’t know this area well cause I don’t fish here much. Looking for some help finding some redfish. Found them this morning just not many keepers. Any help getting me on some fish would be much appreciated. I’m running my shoalwater cat so I can get around pretty good.

My husband was telling me just yesterday that, on a recent guided trip (Rockport), his guide told them that the 2021 freeze had noticeably impact the fish in the bay. They ended having to go 25 miles out to catch anything of substance. He ended up hooking a hammerhead shark before he even snagged a redfish.

Been out there for years! I would say look into Dolphin Dock, deep sea headquarters or fisherman’s wharf for a fun and somewhat cheap deep sea or bay fishing experience. I have done both large and small boats through them and smaller places and enjoyed it thoroughly. The freeze did do a number but the area is bouncing back! I will be down there next week and CAN’T wait to fish!

It’s seems to be doing better. I’ve seen lots of people cleaning fish. I would be able to figure it out if I was here more. I’m almost always fish Baffin so I’m just new to these waters. There’s has to be someone here that knows this area and has fished it recently and can point me in the right direction

Fish the outside shoreline from Quarantine to Traylor for trout. Also the flat between Hog Island and the number islands for trout. Redfish right up on Hog Island or back up against shoreline on reef behind Big Bayou. Hope this helps. If you want to stay more towards Port A have heard good trout reports on on the flats Lydia Anne and also mud island
