I had one of those in my gun safe which is in the garage. Dont remember brand name but it came in a quart sized ziplock type bag that you opened when you hung it. Made for hanging in clothes closet. The gel was gone and bag full of water in a day. Could not afford to replace it every day @ $8 a pop. So I got one of the little dehumidifiers and a safe heater. Guns stay dry now.

My question would be does it matter at what point of the hydrological cycle water is taken from the environment? Say an aquifer is taxed to the limit in a certain area so the government incentives/creates a moisture farm to produce water for additional people to move to the area. Wouldn’t that moisture removed from the air have the same effect on the environment as removed from the earth since moisture in the air is what eventually feeds the aquifer? Just curious. Where the geologists/hydrologists at?

I figured we would have had green water by now for households but still havent seen it yet. Green water as in a synthetic water for non drinking purposes that is cycled through the house, filtered and repurposed.

I have been fighting humidity for a couple of years. In the winter if it is 90% outside it is 90% inside. Everything inside is moist.

We have 2 of these and keep them set at 50% to keep our nose, mouth, and skin from drying out. We dump them up to 5 times every 24 hours. Call it 12 gallons.

I also collect the water from our AC unit. I pour it on bushes etc.

I even use it to water a spot on my foundation.

On very humid days I have dumped 20 gallons in 24 hours...

If you could have a machine that could squeeze the water out of the gel ever 12-24hrs as a water collection station for off grid or wildlife guzzler. That would be amazing.
