In a city of 110,000 people, he will probably get to work three homicides before he gets out of training in about six months. About 3 weeks ago they arrested a 13 year old for Murder and then in a separate Murder they arrested a 17 year old.
It is a great place to learn the business of policing.

Congrats.
I honestly couldn't talk my son into the profession and be able to sleep at nite. It's changed so much in the small 22 years I've done it. Maybe it'll come around, but I can't wait to retire and get away from it. It's not the work but the people you deal with now days.
If he ever needs an ear to listen have him call me. There isn't much I haven't seen. First lesson is leave work at work ESPECIALLY if he's got a girl at home. Working into the wee hours chasing people thru the dark and keeping reports caught up almost cost me a marriage.
Our own hard heads kept us from divorce and I'm lucky to have survived those couple years
