    Thoughts on this statement

This is from an article about the recent remains found in Lake Mead. I think is an attempt at humor or they really are terrible

The victim’s body was discovered close to Hemenway Harbor on May 1 after the water level plunged because of the megadrought in the area. The man had been shot in the head and had a metal overcoat in the shape of a barrel as it reportedly rested in the lake for years.

No comment on the barrel IDK..

But I'm tired of all the megadrought BS talk. Saw another article that said a river in Cali dried up and had pictures of dead trout laying on gravel.. LOL I was arguing with idiot liberals trying to explain the water doesn't instantly go away but they were too dumb to explain to.

There's zero mention of the vast amounts of water being pumped out of lakes. I'd like to know how much is pumped out of Mead now versus 20 years ago. Same with Travis.

I read an article about it several months ago. The numbers are much mind boggling. There is also a lot of wrangling now between s the entities that are allowed to pump water and their quotas. The water is being depleted because of all the development in the desert areas of Arizona and Nevada.

At least someone knows that pumping water out causes it to go down.

I'm waiting for Austin to have a real drought again.

I know nothing about the pumping. I have family out in that part of the world that are in the farming and ranching business. The drought is very real, as it has become in west Texas as well. You can just about draw a line down the 100th Meridian and everything west of it is in moderate to severe drought. If La Nina doesn't go neutral soon, there will be millions of people needing a new home somewhere with drinking water. This situation is extremely serious.

And yes, the body was sunk inside a 55 gallon drum. Poor humor.

That is definitely tongue-in-cheek humor, saying the deceased was killed by drug cartel gangsters.

Nah, I think it was a bit by the Mafia in the 70s.

I grew up in Vegas. It’s easier to dunk something than dig a hole in rocks to bury it.

drought out west has always been around. There are lakes near lake tahoe that have 100ft tall trees...100 feet down. from what I recall the trees are 150 years old so in the middle ages there was a drought that lasted a few hundred years. Before my F-350 or even farting horse or cow was around. Google that " lake tahoe underwater forest"
