The bottom float in the tank will trigger the pump and the upper float with activate your high water alarm. If the pump fails the water will continue to raise and lift the second float this will cause the audible and visual alarms to activate. You can silence the audible alarm with the switch in the side of the control box. The alarm light will stay lit till the tank is pumped down. If you are having smell issues you aerator is likely bad and the system has gone anaerobic.

      Thank you!
The test switch and audible/ mute and light are bad! This pump only has one float- I have the whole pump pulled out ! The pump is bad, the aerator compressor is bad and the inside of the control box is corroded! So everything has to be replaced! I’m in the process of finding a high quality mid-vent pump and the correct - direct fit control box.

Odd that everything is not working…. Pump, aerator, light, horn. I would start with the electrical and see if power is going to these before buying a bunch of parts.

I agree! I definitely know that there is power to the box ! As I said, the breaker for the aeration pump feels bad to me but this pump is old old and I feel that’s why the breaker is tripped. The water pump is some cheap knock- off brand that was discontinued not long after it was installed. The pump tries to kick on but it’s a few seconds of just humming and it get extremely hot. The warning light is burned out and the test + audible switches are bad and are corroded on the inside . I know the aerator has not been working for the last month + and the screened portion of the water pump was clogged badly.

those pumps are easy to rebuild
I buy the kit on amazon

most likely your problem as the tank needs the air moving thru it... and theres a small hose that should go to the microswitch controlling the alarm...not sure why it didnt trigger maybe its old style

Yes Sir- the hose does go into the micro switch but then again, it is heavily rusted! The aeration pump has been through it and looks like it may have been dropped upon installation or whenever. I’ve learned a lot about these systems in the last couple of days - more than I wanted too lol! The aeration pump was totally encased by ant bed and the filter was completely clogged!

The aeration pumps off-gas nitrogen, which ants thrive on. We constantly battle fire ants around our aerator.

I was about to place an order from septic solutions for the water pump, compressor and new control box but I found the company that installed this system. The man came by and confirmed it was bad and is replacing everything plus labor for less than I was purchasing just the components alone myself ! No Brainer lol! Ants are horrible but they’ll be kept in check from now on!
