Would anyone be interested in hunting NE Kansas this November?

My buddy backed out on me last minute.
The hunt is will a fellow by the name of Kris Seymour out of Valley Falls, KS. He is school teacher out of Holton, KS who takes about 20 hunters a year as a side gig. He also is pro staffer for Lone Wolf Tree stands. The hunt will be from November 5th-15th, with lodging but no meals. It is semi-guided, meaning you get all of his expertise, wisdom and suggestions regarding stand placement and the land. He will provide us maps and take us around each property. He has two seperate locations where hunters stay. He has advised me that my partner and I would be staying with him and a host and cameraman from a hunting show that airs on the pursuit channel (It wasn't a show that I recognized when he told me).
Check out his picture on the lone wolf tree stands website with a 206" buck he took back in 2003.

Anyway, total cost for the hunt is $2,000. Your license will run you about 371 total. If we dont get drawn a full refund will be received of your deposit and your permit fee. There were tags left over last year for unit 10 so getting drawn for archery should not be a problem.

Call me if you want to discuss. Party animals need not apply. I am a family man who is on this trip to fulfill a dream, it is not something I do every year. In fact, this is my first time to hunt outside of a lease environment. I am going either way, but I would like to have someone to share travel expenses and for fellowship.

I have pictures that Kris has forwarded to me from some of the kills from last year that I would be happy to forward to you when you call.

Sounds like a OK price.............. especially if you got lucky and whacked a monster 180 class buck!!!! And if y'all ever had dreams of taking a show-nuf trophy whitetail buck, Kansas is a good place to start. If you want to kill a big-un, ya better hunt where they live!!
    Good luck this fall Anthony!!

What unit is that? I hunted Unit 11 last year, not far from Fort Scott. Hunting buddy took a 172 6/8. I passed on a decent buck I gauged to be 135 inches, B&C, 4 1/2 years old.

That is good ground up that way! I am deep south central KS and could only wish for that type of terrain.

Unit 10 is, I believe north of topeka and east over to like Leavenworth.
I really pumped about this hunt after talking with him and doing all the research. He has the same hunters in year in and year out, I fell into a perfect deal as I called him in December of '08 right after he acquired some additional land. A hunter from Ohio killed a 193incher three years ago. You have a legit opportunity to kill a monster. And with 11 days total there, you have time to be choosy.

I have plans to be just NW of Holton the following week. If it falls through(and I will know within the week), I would definitely be interested. We saw several good deer last year(1st year I hunted KS). Had an encounter with a clean 12(170ish) the last morning and he just never got to a spot where I could let one fly. 24-26 yds within a hawg and can't even shoot is a bad, bad, feeling. PM me if you would like and I'll keep you informed.

I think this is a great gesture on your part, however I suspect there are a bunch of folks (like myself) that are having to watch their nickels right now and to try to plan for a hunt (as awesome as it sounds) in the later part of this year is pretty difficult. No doubt most of us can only dream of going on something like what you are offering. Good luck and keep us posted!

When do you have to put up the money by and when do you apply for the draw? I would have to RRRReally be good for the rest of the year to get this past my wife, But I am interested.
