Based on this website..... https://txmarspecies.tamug.edu/length-weight.cfm His length of 98 inches would make him approximately 265 lbs
Heck of a fish!

Hopefully GarGuy will chime in here, but that guy's commentary is such a mouth full of garbage, it ruined the video! Yes, any 8 foot gar is a trophy indeed, BUT they are FAR from scarce! I have one hanging on my wall that is 7'7" and it was 230# and all spawned out as I caught her in August. When a gar reaches the 7'+ range, they slow their length growth some and start to really increase in girth... That's when they really put on weight... Hard to tell from that video, but that one for some reason did not seem to have the girth needed to get to 300#... Also his measuring technique has a lot of "slack" in it... He "measured" it at 8'2", but sure didn't provide much real "evidence" documenting it in the video... Still, it was a great catch. But if you want to catch 'em one after the other, if you have access to the upper end of Trinity Bay and back lakes around old and lost rivers... You can wear yourself out!
I've seen those suckers in Moses Lake rolling in late August when it's hot and sticky and it seemed there were so many you could walk on 'em!! Same thing in the spring on a flood tide or when the lower Trinity is at low to moderate flood stage... Upper Trinity has literally millions of alligator gar juveniles after a wet Spring that will ultimately decimate the game fish population...
