    Fly fishing Arizona???

I’m starting a new project just south of Winslow, AZ. Will be here for the next few months. I know nothing about fly fishing but interested in learning. Anyone got any intel they wouldn’t mind sharing with a bass fisherman from central Texas. Looks like I can be in the mountains in an 1-2 hrs in almost any direction.

I didn't do much fishing when I was there. Lees Ferry supposedly has great trout fishing. There is also fly fishing on the reservation, but I have not done that. Hatch, UT is 4.5 hours away and has real good trout fishing. Have fun up there.

There's a hatchery on Silver Creek, northeast of Show Low. Rainbows and Apache trout. Dad and I fished the creek below the hatchery several years ago. Easy walk up and down the creek, and the fishing was good.

Oak Creek between Sedona and Flagstaff is fun too. Much thicker over most of it, and it's more of a hike/climb from some of the access points. Cool area though, for sure.

Not much water at Winslow, but there's a flatbed Ford.

If you’re south of Winslow East Clear Creek works, pretty steep and not totally accessible along long stretches but you can rent a kayak as well. It’s just south of Winslow and if you want to jump off a cliff all the high school kids will be out at a couple places. Trout and bass.
Look towards The White Mountains east of you - Black River maybe? Lee’s Ferry as mentioned used to be a blast - not sure it produces like it used to but it’s worth a shot. We used to fish Lees 1-2x a year. Not sure it’s really wade accessible but drift fishing would be lights out. Would need a boat, preferably a jet boat.
Blue Ridge Reservoir is about 47 miles south of Winslow and again accessible with a kayak (used to be anyway - I grew up about 5 miles from it and haven’t been back in quite a while). Big browns and decent rainbows.
As mentioned Oak Creek is fun and should be accessible.
              Good luck!
