    Hill Country Builder Recommendations?

The family and I are looking to build on some property near Camp Wood in Real County. Anyone have recommendations for a builder/GC for a barndominium or residential home? Or even people to avoid?

Id also take any recent prices to help have realistic expectations in this crazy market. I wish we'd built a few years ago when it was $100-120/ft.

It’s hard to find anybody. If they do decent work they are covered up. From my experience, if you find someone and get them out there get everything you want done at once because it’s hard to get them back

Same here, looking for about 1000 sq ft west of Leakey. I can guarantee it is not cheap, and hard to find someone who comes to the area without a big up charge. I keep going back an forth from cedar cabin to metal barndo. I just can't pull the trigger and feel I'll be happy. The camper gets cramped at times but better than nothing. Following....

Check with CW Custom Builders at 830-534-1981. I am a project manager for Silas Lacey Designs, a custom home design firm. Cody Wallace (CW) has built some of the homes we designed and his company does a great job.

We do a lot of work with Dalgleish. They are expensive… but probably the best.

Hill country restoration is fixing to start a big project for some of my customers. We will be financing it so I will be on site quite a bit through the process but so far they seem solid. The challenge you are going to have is finding someone willing to travel to those more remote locations without hammering you on cost

Agreed. Talked to one guy out of Fredericksburg. He has to put his guys up in hotel or RV park to keep from driving 2 hours one way daily. I have extra RV hook up but kinda leery about loaning it out for 5-6 weeks minimum. I don't know if it would work out for me.

Thanks for all the recs. What about someone based in uvalde or junction too? The one good thing we have is great access.
