Barb wire fences and horses don’t mix too well

This is the second mare in two months time that has gotten a leg torn up badly in a fence. It’s painful just looking at the injury. We’ll see what the vet says but I’m not so sure this horsy is gonna make it past this mishap. The other horse didn’t.

Horses are lacerations looking for a place to happen. Hope she recovers.

Is something running them into the fence? Only horse I ever had that got tore up by barb wire was chased into it by neighbors dog. Dog didn’t make it back off our place.

They sometimes jump fences when they get separated from the other horses.

I started riding at 30 years old. An old man near me said "A horse spends every waking hour figuring out how to kill you or himself".

                There's more to that saying.

....and the more they cost, the better they are at it.

Horsy didn’t make it. The entire hoof came off.

Sorry for your girl. A single electric ribbon offset may lessen the chance of this happening in the future.

Amen. My family was into cutting horses and race horses.

                      Sorry about your horse
