    6.7 cummins EGR delete

My truck started making weird noises out of nowhere....

When I am steady speed it runs perfect, and when I give it any fuel it starts whistling and spooling......
I think my EGR delete block off plate blew a plug out

Anyone know what this plug in the center of this plate is for?

Mine is not there now and I am sure it has been because when I put my finger over the hole it is blowing out of it

Not sure what that hole is.

Did you check the intercooler boots?
    Is the temperature running hotter?

My Freightliner started whistling and was running hot, to the point it would trigger the overheating alarm on the dash.
One of the intercooler boots had a cut in it. I replaced it and it ran fine after that

      Sealing off the plate

I think its for a temp probe

so if you dont have the probe i assume it should have a plug in it?

Yes....it should have the plug if you dont have an aftermarket temp gauge. It shouldn't be blowing out for sure!

More than likely it was never tightened when installed

Your Kanuter valve has gone bad.

            Replace it, you’ll be fine.

              A temperature sensor maybe?

If so you'd figure there'd be a dangling wire with the other end attached somewhere.

For sure a temp probe hole, can either find a plug or a short bolt to thread into it, but id prolly just get an EGT probe and install it there.

That’s where your EGT probe (which you should really have IMO) would be installed.
