This is completely false. You got to get off the beaten path and find some of those buildings painted bright green, purple or yellow. Most people will mention crap like the Blue Goose though. I can give a couple in the Sherman area, but not the North Dallas area though.

La Ranchera on King St. is my favorite. It’s always packed. The Taco Bus is awesome. They also cook in the Mexican Grocery store La Michoacana. There’s a Salvadorean and Mexican place called La Placita on Houston St. that ain’t bad. All way better than any of your chain restaurants.

Mesquite grilled. Tortillas made onsite. Great location/atmosphere.

I have been. As a matter of fact I was there a couple of weeks ago after a long hiatus and it's still highly overpriced. Decent food but nowhere near the best Mexican food around. Now it may be the best in Dallas, I can't speak to that
Glorias is good. Chuys has a good boom boom sauce, Christina’s is good, Angelina’s is good, salsas is ok in a pinch. Hard to mess up fajitas or a burrito which is what I normally get, so chain or not is not the biggest selling point for me.
