    New state record big horn

Bobby Theis recently harvested what will likely become the new Texas state record desert bighorn sheep while hunting south of Alpine on the Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area. The ram scored 185 5/8 inches and is undergoing a 60 day drying period before officially earning the title,

It blows my mind that some outdoor writer named tony mandile is saying it was a canned hunting because it’s shot in Texas

That's awesome! I saw a BRUISER bighorn when I hunted the Sierra Diablo WMA for mule deer back in 2011. I didn't kill a deer, but I'm a wild sheep nut so just seeing that ram was worth the trip.

Obviously, the writer hasn't seen west Texas before. Ain't nothing canned about that hunt.

Thats a beast. Do you have a link to his article regarding the canned hunt comments?

It looks like pretty wild, open country to me.

It’s farther down in the post threads where he makes that canned claim

He's an idiot. I've been to the top of that thing, and it is NO JOKE.

Awesome trophy. I wouldn’t really give a rats patooty what some pencil pusher said about it. Congrats to that man.
