    Zach Williams concert

We went to see Zach Williams last night here in Abilene. He's been my favorite Christian singer since he first started with Chain Breaker a few years ago. This was the first time I've seen him live. If you like Christian music - or if you just like southern rock / country-ish rock music, you should go see him live if you get the chance. He doesn't play the typical 10-minutes of repeating the same line over and over praise music. He plays the same kind of music he used to play in a rock band before he became a Christian. He just writes really awesome Christian lyrics to go along with it now.

When they set up for his band after the opening act (which was a young lady named Anne Wilson), they set up a Hammond B-3 organ, a steel guitar, a lap steel and lots of other guitars. Then band members came in, including a horn section and backup singers. I told my wife it looked like the Allman Brothers were gonna play. Then about 3 songs in, I noticed one of the guitar players had an Allman Brothers t-shirt on. They play that kind of soulful, bluesy rock. And he can sing too. Not quite Chris Stapleton level, but pretty doggone close. It was a great show.

Anne Wilson is really good too. She's not the Ann Wilson from Heart in the 70s/80s. But she can sing too. The drummer had an AW logo with some deer antlers on his bass drum. That was cool.

If you get a chance to catch this tour, go see them.

I have gotten lost in watching / listening to his stuff on Youtube more than once. He's extremely talented, and is using his gift for the Kingdom.

My wife and I saw in play in Angelo back in I believe the year was 2018.
We really enjoyed it. I bought his CD that day and listen to it on a regular basis.
He has some great songs…We really like his music.

I believe TBH’er TheHammer is going to see him this Saturday.

He is probably my top Christian artist as well. His prison concerts on youtube are pretty powerful.

I can listen to Anne Wilson's song "My Jesus" on repeat all day

Yes, Zach is awesome....what a story and testimony he has. On his first album (I think) he did a version of Midnight Rider (Allman Bros) that was fantastic...saw an interview or write up about how they were one of his biggest influences.

Man, and to get Anne Wilson in the same concert...wow! She is legit! I love her style and she has GREAT songs. No Place Like Home is a favorite of mine.

Yeah, his version of Midnight Rider was awesome. I knew they were an influence, but I never realized his band was modeled after them as well.

Anne Wilson just had a little 3-piece band with drums, bass and guitar. Still sounded great, but it wasn't the BIG show that Zach put on. She did come out and sing a couple songs with him too, and those were really good.

Check out Anne's "My Jesus (Live Nashville)" album on iTunes. We seem to align on a lot of things, based on reading your posts (I don't post a whole lot). I'm betting that you'd like this album...it's only about 5 songs.

Yep, she's good. I have a group that leads worship at one of our local ministries called Bar Church. We're there about once a month. We do a lot of Zach's songs, and we've done "My Jesus" and "Something About That Name" by Anne. The lady that sings with me and her husband (some of our best friends) went to the concert with my wife and I last night. We were on the 2nd row. It was fun.
