Yes, I was there! I actually enjoyed this one much more than previous years. While I missed most of the food - everything except the ribs and fish - I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with the all day Bow nutz. Mary, Keith and Michael and many others made me feel like the prodigal child retuning home. Yes, I've missed a few over the years - enough to feel guilty about.

Honestly, I know several people that are on the fence about going or will not go because of the elevated alcohol images and have even called it a drunk fest.

Rest assured - it was not a drunk fest and if anyone was drunk, I sure didn't notice. Half of the people there were not drinking alcohol mostly because they were too young so you know it is a family friendly environment.

If you have not been to Bownanza, COME NEXT YEAR! There's a little bit of everything for everyone. The weather was perfect, the shade and light breeze was amazing. I for sure will arrive earlier and stay later next year. It was a great time visiting with some of my favorite people!

And, your post was spot on! I am not a drinker, but I have never felt uncomfortable at Saturday's actual Bownanza. It truly is a family deal with lots of kids, young adults and teenagers with a few of us GOF's mixed in... Truly a great gang of folks!
