    Squirrel in Attic

A neighbor lady of mine has a squirrel in her attic. She called a pest company and they wanted a crazy amount of money to remove it. What is the best way to trap it before plugging up the hole?

I had the same thing previously, and I used regular rat poison and it worked. You could try rat traps and peanut butter also. If she wants it alive, some kind of have a heart trap, but I have not had much luck catching things in those in the past.

We just tacked a box trap to the side of my in-law's house, vertically with the door side up, a couple feet underneath the hole it was using to get in the house. Stuck some peanut butter in the trap and had the squirrel trapped in 2 days.

Throw some nuts in it and set it in the attic. It works.

Going to have to close up the hole they are coming through to really stop it.

I've never had any luck trying to trap squirrels in the attic. I've tried zappers, snap traps and live traps. The only thing that has worked for me is to run them out of the attic and close up the hole. I once borrowed a "squirrel excluder" and put it over the hole which closes behind them when they leave - it worked

Both of my neighbors were going through the same thing and asked me if I wanted the guy to trap them in my attic also. The cost was crazy, like over $1,000 for each house.
they paid it and he caught a grand total of TWO!! in their attics. Since them I have shot 15 in my front yard with my Gammo. The population has been controlled!

This is the only thing that worked besides a pellet gun for me

I've used a live trap a few times. Instead of putting some kind of bait in the trap, I've had the best luck putting a bowl of water in it. It gets hot in an attic.

You gonna need a zebco rod and reel. Some nutty peanut butter and a treble hook.

Place hook on rod and reel. Form a ball of the nutty peanut butter around the hook like you would stink bait. Open attic door cast line in. Sit on couch next to rod and reel and wait to set the hook.

You may also want a video camera because it’s gonna be awesome

Squirrels are active during the day.. Wait for a nice day out like today & have the whole plugged up.. Chances are it wont be in the attic.
