How old when you first killed a buck?

How old were you when you got your first buck? I didn't deer hunt until I was in college...always dove, quail and pheasant. I killed two doe in college and just started again last year. I am 36 and have only seen one buck while hunting...I was hunting hogs, but hunting the same. Just curious. Kinda glad I haven't got one to date. Looking forward to my first being with a bow!

Dec 23rd 1993 I killed a 6pt with my brother in law. I was 7 years old and haven't lost 1 oz of passion since then!

First with a bow?

1st with a bow was October 11 2003 118" main frame 8 with a split g2 at 49yds. I bow hunted for 6 years before I connected with anything and this buck committed suicide! .

First buck!I have never killed a wt buck with either my bow or rifle!I have killed a doe with my bow this past Dec. my first kill after 3 years of bowhunting.I have shot several does with my rifle my first when I was 30!I Have shot a very nice Axis Buck with my rifle when I was 31!

Deadly, after reading you post I had to laugh at the name! Glad to hear I am not the only one. My wife knows that I am obsessive compulsive...I have been on here the last 3 hours! She will be glad to see the day that I get mine with my bow. The natives will rest for a while...at least until the next hunt!

Gun 16 years old, Bow on the other hand is a differant story... I've been hunting ever since... learned everything from a guy that lived across the street and I eat it up, I have not yet shot a deer with my bow... I learned a big thing last season, to use a range finder!!!!

I was 15...some 36 years ago. I wish I had the green screen for advice back then. It was all trial and error for me. Folks were watching the Texas / Alabama game. I believe it was Jan 1, 1971. I waited a while before anyone came and got me. Oh...It was a spike.

x2 on the rangefinder!I'll even go one better!Check the distances of lil bushes or trees in your area so when you see a deer around that spot you'll already know how far awy they are!I had 3 axis come out on a trail by my treestand the day after x-mas I didnt have time to rangefind them and thought they were to far out!After they left I checkd the distance on a lil bush they passed in front of 25 yards!!!!They were well within range and were giving me quarting away shots as they walked down the trail!I still am kicking myself over that!!I will never make that mistake again!!!Had I checkd that bush first I would have known that it was only 25 yards and would have taken a shot!!!!!
